Gerald Warren Livengood (known to family and friends as Jerry), aged 81, passed away in the morning hours of October 7, 2025. Born to Warren Jay Livengood and Lona Mae Livengood on January 7, 1944, in Cumberland, MD, he was the life of the party. Gerald was a cherished member of the Livengood family, brother to the Charlotte (Tommy) Livengood.
Jerry proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Guadalcanal as an aviation structural mechanic during his enlistment (1961-1965) after completing his training at Surface Warfare Engineering School Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.
In 1965, he settled in Cortland, NY after agreeing to drive a fellow naval man (Jim Reynolds) home after the end of their enlistment and deciding he never wanted to leave the scenic area. An avid golfer, pool player, and poker player, Jerry also was a skilled outdoorsman and trap/skeet shooter.
He was predeceased by his parents. Jerry’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by his sister Charlotte Livengood and nephew Dustin Grisso, three daughters Tammy Livengood, Christine Marrs, and Lori Livengood, along with his grandchildren Taylor (Greg) Congdon, Abigale (Yash) Kothari, and Kassandra (Elijah) Mushalla.
Celebration of life for Gerald W Livengood will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Eagles, located at 155 Port Watson St, Cortland, NY.
