Anne Neugebauer passed away peacefully at Oak Hill Manor in Ithaca, NY on March 10, 2025. Anne was born on April 29, 1936, to the late Daniel and Gertrude O’Donnell Hartnett. She was raised in Truxton, NY and was a graduate of Truxton Central School and SUNY Cortland. Anne was employed as a teacher where she worked in the Liverpool, Fabius Pompey, and Homer school districts.
Anne married Richard Neugebauer on July 6, 1968.
They were married at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Truxton, NY and then made their home in Cortland, NY. Anne was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Anne was predeceased by her husband; brothers Donel, Charles, and Louis Hartnett; her sisters Mary Schirmer, Katherine Hartnett, and Helen Anderson; her mother-in-law, Iva Neugebauer; brothers and sisters-in-law Tom Anderson, Elizabeth “Dickie” Hartnett, Phyllis Hartnett, Janice Hartnett, and Ralph Race; niece Monica Anderson; nephews Thomas and Christopher Anderson, Richard and Andrew Race.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Dan) Jordan of Clay, NY; her sons, Paul and Thomas of Cortland, NY, and Michael of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Daniel and Matthew Jordan; sisters-in-law Margaret Race, Elizabeth Neugebauer, Kathryn Rowan; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Hill Manor for their wonderful care over the past two months.
