The Cortland County Historical Society plans a brunch on Mother’s Day to help create new memories even as it supports the agency that archives the old ones.
The event will be 11 a.m. May 12 at Tinelli’s Hathaway House in Solon. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children 6 to 12.
The menu includes fresh fruit, yogurt, freshly baked breads and pastries, cinnamon bun French toast, quiche, scrambled eggs, a cheesy hash-brown potato casserole, applewood-smoked bacon and coffee or tea. The fee includes the gratuity.
Mimosas and other beverages will be available via a cash bar.
Live music will help create the environment.
The building was erected in 1844 by Maj. Gen. Samuel Gilbert Hathaway and has many original features, the society reports. The Tinelli has operated its business at the homestead for almost 50 years.
