ITHACA — you can watch a video of artist Jane Kim as she paints a Northern Cardinal on Saturday at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca.
The interactive events, which starts at 10 a.m. at 159 Sapsucker Woods Road, also lets you make your own bird art to take home and view sculptures, paintins and murals of birds.
Registration is not required for the free program, which will continue until noon.
Eastern Star meets Dec. 12
The Order of the Eastern Star, Homer chapter 222 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Masonic Lodge on Route 13 in Cortlandville.
This is the annual meeting and reports for 2024 will be presented. Officers for 2025 will be elected and installed.
The dress code is long white attire for women and dark suits for the men.
Member are reminded to bring F dollars for the Grand Chapter Foundation. The next chapter meeting will be in March.
Sandra Attleson and Deborah Steinhauser will provide refreshments.
Chess Club meets Thursdays
The Cortland Chess Club meets 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at the Cortland Free Library, 32 Church St. All levels are welcome.
