Rauber completes busy weekend at track states

Tully junior Ryan Rauber ran three times in an hour and a half Saturday at the New York State Track & Field Championships at Cicero-North Syracuse High School, competing in both the boys 200-meter and 400-meter races.

Rauber’s day began at 12:10 p.m. with his Division II state final in the 200-meter dash. He finished second with a time of 21.95 seconds, falling 0.43 seconds short of a second state title in as many days.

The star junior then ran in the 400-meter federation final at 1:05 p.m., coming in sixth with a time of 49.28 seconds.

Rauber’s last race was at 1:30 p.m., running in the 200-meter federation final. He finished in eighth with a time of 23.10 seconds.

Tully’s Anna Congelli was the only other local athlete to compete Saturday, finishing the girls 1,500 meter state championship race in 4:51.03. That was good for 26th overall and 11th in Division II.
