To the Editor:
In its Oct. 18 on-going coverage of the post-Helene/Milton hurricane devastation, the Cortland Standard stated, “Children who experience natural disasters are more prone to acute illness and symptoms of depression and anxiety.” The increasing violence and frequency of climate disasters is caused by human generated climate change. Climate anxiety in children is epidemic around the world. Donald Trump says climate change is “a hoax”
In August 2020 Trump suggested injecting people with disinfectant to kill COVID. The medical community immediately opposed this and issued emergency warnings.
While in office Trump repeatedly called for US withdrawal from NATO. (That would be a dream for Putin.) NATO is the strongest defense alliance against Russia, but its members, according to Trump weren’t paying enough for their membership. This past February, Trump said he would encourage Russians to do “whatever the hell they want” to any NATO country that did not comply with his payment demands. Presumably, war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine, including rape, torture, summary executions of civilians and many other atrocities would be OK with Trump.
There is only one thing that Donald Trump cares about — Donald Trump.
Do we really want an ego-maniacal, anti-science, misogynistic geezer to be our next president?
