DA candidates to speak to Rotary

The Cortland Breakfast Rotary will host Cortland County’s candidates for district attorney at breakfast meetings Oct. 23 and Oct. 30.

Former Chief Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth McGrath, a Democrat, will speak at 7 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Center for the Arts of Homer. Incumbent District Attorney Patrick Perfetti will speak at 7 a.m. Oct. 30.

Admission to the events is free.

McGrath has 13 years experience as prosecutor, including five with the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. She served as the chief assistant district attorney in Cortland under Mark Suben and Patrick Perfetti, where she was responsible for training and supervising all assistant district attorneys.

Perfetti was first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. Before that, he was a lawyer in private practice, and had been Lapeer town attorney and Homer’s corporation counsel.
